Boeing Plant 2

Floyd|Snider is assisting the Boeing Company (Boeing) to implement environmental investigations and remedial actions under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) for this former airplane parts manufacturing facility located on more than 100 acres along the Duwamish River. This work is being conducted under an Administrative Order on Consent for RCRA corrective actions. It was the first RCRA corrective action for sediments within USEPA Region 10. The sediments off of Plant 2, which are being handled as part of the RCRA order, are also within the Lower Duwamish Waterway Superfund Site.

The cleanup is managed by internal Boeing Staff using a team of consultants from 5 firms. Floyd|Snider's role is technical integration -responsible for coordinating the various technical work products into a whole project that complies with the regulations and the RCRA Order, and meets Boeing's business goals.

Additionally, Floyd|Snider assists Boeing on a number of technical issues, including development of target media cleanup levels, establishment of site-specific soil and groundwater background concentrations for a number of chemicals, integration of source control goals for the sediment cleanup across various regulatory programs, and interim measures to cleanup sediment, soil, and groundwater contamination in localized areas.
