Weyerhaeuser-Everett West

Floyd|Snider provides technical and strategic guidance to a forest products company that previously owned and operated a kraft pulp mill within the Everett Smelter Lowlands on the Snohomish River.  Floyd|Snider developed and negotiated with the Washington State Department of Ecology a technical approach to address residual arsenic and total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) contamination in groundwater. Floyd|Snider demonstrated Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA) compliance for areas of the site, established a more focused compliance monitoring network at a conditional point of compliance, and is currently implementing a strategy to cost-effectively demonstrate full compliance with Consent Decree and MTCA requirements and achieve the client goal of permanently removing the site from the state hazardous sites list in support of industrial redevelopment.
